Police investigate Bradenton shooting

BRADENTON - Bradenton police were investigating the shooting of a motorist this afternoon.

The victim was found about 1:48 p.m. stopped in the 800 block of Eighth Avenue West, in downtown Bradenton. It appeared the man had been shot in the head, and the windows of his Cadillac apparently had been shot out by gunfire.

Police said the victim was shot somewhere on U.S. 41 by someone in a black car, according to a news release.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police did not release any other information, including the condition of the victim.

Gary Warner, an employee at Goodyear tire shop at the intersection of Eighth Avenue West and Ninth Street West said he heard a horn honk, someone yelling and then sirens. He said he did not hear gunshots.
