As adults head out to celebrate the 2008 Holiday Season they can “do the ride thing” by taking advantage of a free program that can help keep Sarasota & Manatee counties streets safe.
Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, Anheuser-Busch, and AAA are sponsoring Tow to Go, a community-based initiative that helps prevent drunk driving by providing tow service for their cars and rides to adults who may have had too much to drink.
“We want all adults who choose to drink, regardless of the occasion, to act responsibly,” said John Saputo, president/owner of Gold Coast Eagle Distributing. “That means if you include alcohol in your celebrations, please plan ahead and arrange to use alternate transportation, such as Tow to Go, or a designated driver to get home safely. Drunk driving is 100 percent preventable, and we are pleased to participate in this community service and do our part to help keep our roads safe. Tow to Go and our offer to pay leaves our consumers with no excuse to drink and drive. We thank the 99 percent of our customers for drinking responsibly and keeping all our loved ones safe during the Holidays.”
Tow to Go has been serving Sarasota and Manatee counties since 1998. It was a concept between Saputo and his staff over 10years ago in Sarasota. Since that time the program has been adopted by Anheuser-Busch Distributors, AAA, and tow companies all over Florida, Metro Atlanta, Savannah, Ga., and Metro Nashville.
