Crash causes closing of I-75 lanes

The Florida Highway Patrol has reported a crash on I-75 this morning in Sarasota that is causing major traffic problems.

Just before 8 a.m., a crash involving a motorcycle and two other vehicles caused troopers to close northbound lanes of I-75, just south of exit 195. Traffic was being diverted onto Jacaranda Boulevard.

At around 8:15 a.m., FHP had an emergency lane open allowing traffic to pass. Troopers were waiting for three wreckers to clear lanes before all could be opened. No information has been released on possible injuries in the crash.

In Manatee, two crashes also have snarled traffic this morning. Troopers remain on the scene of a crash on Cortez Road West at U.S. 41 North, that is blocking traffic on Cortez. Minor injuries have been reported in the 7 a.m. wreck.

FHP is also investigating a crash this morning U.S. 41 and 61st Street East. Troopers are reporting roadblock and injuries at the 7 a.m. crash.
