On Sunday night a friend and I went to see the Goo Goo Dolls at the Greek Theatre in L.A. The Greek is an outdoor venue surrounded by the hills and trees and is a great place for a show.
This was only the third show of the Goo's new tour but it was great! The lightshow was just incredible. John Rzeznick is one of my favorite singer/songwriters and he was in rare form with his very dry sense of humor! LOL
They played for about 2 hours and the opening act Lifehouse had a good crowd of their own fans there to support them. It was an incredible night and I would recommend to anyone going to LA to see a show in this wonderful place.
On Monday, my last day in LA, I headed to the set of General Hospital. I was so excited to be going to the studio that of course I took a wrong turn (which is a bad thing in LA! LOL)

I got one of my Bradenton friends on the phone with a computer and they gave me driving directions - What did we do before the Internet? I arrived at the guard gate and was given a parking pass and told to go right over to the set.
There is a big sign out front that says "General Hospital" and "Emergency." They use these for exterior shots for the show. I was escorted into the office of the publicist, Mitch Messinger who arranged this for me. He assigned an intern named Erica to escort me around the set. We went down to the sound stage and watched scenes being rehearsed and blocked. Then we watched the final product being taped.
The scenes I watched were with Emmy nominee Julie Berman and Kirsten Storms. It was fun to watch them in action. I was given a tour of the dressing rooms and various sets like the nurses’ station, Kelly's Diner and Jason & Sam's living room. I was given a couple of scripts as a gift to take home.
I took photos with Julie Berman and on my way out ran into Sebastian Roche, Rebecca Herbst and Kelly Monaco getting ready to run scenes.
It was truly a great ending to a great trip! My thanks to the Bradenton Herald for doing the story, the staff at General Hospital and everyone (you know who you are) for making this such an incredible time! I will have pictures coming very soon!
