SARASOTA -- The Faith Lutheran Church Fall Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17.
The festival on church grounds at 7750 Beneva Road, Sarasota, features food, games, face painting, petting zoo, pumpkin patch and a performance by the Bluegrass Banyan Band from 1-2 p.m.
The fundraiser is free and open to the public. Food and bake sale offerings require tickets available for purchase at the festival. "This year's fall festival offers a host of activities the entire family can enjoy," said Lynn Hall, chief operating officer of Faith Lutheran Church. "We hope everyone will bring their families, neighbors and friends out to have some fun and salute the arrival of fall Florida style."
Faith Lutheran is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2016 with a series of events and initiatives, including a fundraising dinner to benefit the church's early learning center on Oct. 24 at Prestancia, a special music series, an arts and crafts festival Jan. 9, golf tournament April 30 and fishing tournament June 3-4.
"We're calling this our Step Up campaign," said Hall, adding the campaign slogan is Restore, Rebuild and Rejoice. "This is a big year for us. We hope to update some of the church's interior and exterior spaces and expand our programs and community outreach. That's the purpose behind the campaign's fundraising drives and special events. Our goal, of course, is to re-energize the faith community in an atmosphere of fellowship, worship and personal engagement."
