Acts of kindness: Faith United Church of Christ, 4850 State Road 64 E., plans random acts of kindness the evening of Dec. 16 in downtown Bradenton. Faith UCC’s Santa helpers and elves will be passing out small gifts to people on the street.

Hanukkah downtown: The Jewish community in Bradenton will be holding its Downtown Bradenton Hanukkah celebration 6 p.m. Dec. 19 in front of the Manatee Players Theater, 102 12th St. W. This years celebration will be filled with singing, dancing, special readings by the religious leaders, members and the religious school students of both Temple Beth El and Congregation Ner Tamid. Soccer camp: The J316/WPC Christmas Soccer Camp is set for Dec. 20-22 at Westminster Presbyteran Church, 3011 19th Ave. W., Bradenton. The camp includes skills training, a Bible lesson, and an emphasis on team and sportsmanship. Cost: $35. Information: 941-526-7512.

Menorah lighting: Chabad of Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch will light a public 9-foot menorah 6:30 p.m. Dec. 21 on Lakewood Ranch Main Street, followed by live music, hip hop dance group, frying and decorating traditional doughnuts, latkes, cotton candy, raffles, pictures with Judah the Maccabbee, a Dreidel House, Olive Oil Factory, Falafel by Yoav, Kosher food from “Delicious Creations” and face painting. Hanukkah service: Temple Beth El Bradenton, 4200 32nd St. W., Bradenton, will have a special Hanukkah service 6 p.m. Dec. 23 with its annual family menorah lighting and pot luck dinner. Hanukkah Happening: Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road, Sarasota, invites the community to their annual “Hanukkah Happening” 6 p.m. Dec. 23. Reservations are requested by Dec. 12. Christmas services: Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3131 61st St., Sarasota, will have a Christmas Eve communion service at 7 p.m. On Christmas Day there will be a service at 11 a.m.
