Preschool graduation: Ellenton United Methodist Preschool will graduate students who have been prepared for kindergarten June 6. The state-sponsored voluntary pre-kindergarten (VPK) is a free nursery program that helps adjust children from toddlers to students with basic learning skills, self-discipline, and fun activities. Vacation Bible school: Community of Christ, 5817 33rd St. E., Bradenton, will be “Going Green for Jesus” during Vacation Bible School, set for 6-8:30 p.m. June 8-11. Chabad Kidlink: Chabad of Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch is offering Kidlink for children ages 5-12. Classes are held 4-5:15 p.m. June 10, 17 and 24, and July 8 and 15 at Chabad, 11509 Palmbrush Trail, Lakewood Ranch. Each class will provide students with a Judaic-themed kosher activity, craft or cooking project,as well as a light dinner. Cost: all sessions $55 or $15 a class. Baseball game: The youth and men’s groups of Church of the Nativity, 5900 N. Lockwood Ridge Road, is offering a trip to St. Petersburg to attend the Rays vs. Marlins baseball game June 11. Car-pooling will be from the church at 5 p.m. Reservations: 355-3262.

Food drive: Under the direction of its Social Action Committee, Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road, Sarasota, continues its food drive for those in Sarasota-Manatee who go hungry. Nonperishable boxed and canned foods may be placed in a marked bin in the Temple lobby during business hours and before and after Shabbat worship services. Orthodox Catholic: The Synod of Governing Bishops for the Holy Orthodox Catholic Church announced the opening if their new church temporarily located at 2700 S. Tamiami Trail, Suite 11B, Sarasota.
