Community Easter events

n Good Friday service: A community Good Friday service is set noon-2 p.m. Friday in the Downtown Bradenton First Baptist Church- Historic Sanctuary. Area ministers will present the “Seven Last Words of Jesus from the Cross.”

nEaster Sunrise Service: The Manatee County Easter Sunrise Service sponsored by the Manatee County Ministries Association, the Ministerial Fellowship of the Gulf Coast, the North River Ministerial Association and the DeSoto Historical Society will be held at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at Rossi Waterfront Park, Bradenton. Bring a lawn chair and blanket.

nEaster Sunrise Service: The 46th annual Easter Sunrise Service at Manatee County Public Beach is set for 6:30 a.m. Sunday. The invocation will be delivered by the Rev. Harry I. Parsell of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation. This year’s sermon will be presented by the Rev. Gary Batey of the Roser Memorial Community Church in Anna Maria. All funds raised will go equally to six island churches. The public is invited.

nAgape benefit: Easter Fest is set for noon- 7 p.m. Sunday at Payne Park, Sarasota. Events include potato sack races, a huge Easter egg hunt, petting zoo, carnival and pony rides, and a chance to win great prizes. There will be a Christian rock concert, showcasing the best in local Christian youth bands. Admission is $5 for adults; children 12 and younger are admitted free.
