Tot Shabbat: Temple Emanu-El, 151 S. McIntosh Road, Sarasota, welcomes Jewish and interfaith families to “Tot Shabbat” at 10:30 a.m. today with a bagel breakfast, playground time, and age-appropriate Shabbat prayers and songs with Rabbi Brenner Glickman. This month, Tot Shabbat attendees will also celebrate Tu B’Shevat – the birthday of the trees – with a story and craft project. “Tot Shabbat” is designed for ages 1-6, but all are welcome. Cowboy concert: Cowboy Gospel Night with Wess Adams, Song Garden’s Garden Creek label recording artist, will begin at 7 p.m. today at The Coach House Park main hall, 4907 28th Ave. E., Palmetto. Missionary conference: The 49th annual Missionary Conference at the Christ Community Church, formerly First Alliance Church, is set for Jan. 31 -Feb. 7 at the church, 57th Avenue West and 18th Street, Bradenton. Services will be held at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sundays and 7 p.m. weekdays. Speakers this year include missionaries who have served in Thailand, France, Africa, Brazil and Ecuador.

Catholic Schools Week: St. Joseph Catholic School, Manatee County’s only Catholic school, will celebrate National Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 31-Feb. 6. Led by the National Catholic Educators Association, this year’s theme is “Dividends for Life: Morals, Discipline, Knowledge, and Faith.”

Islamic discussion: Manatee United Methodist Church, 315 15th St. E., Bradenton, will host the final session on the Muslim religion and practices at 7 p.m. Feb. 1. The session will be led by the Rev. Wilbur Lingle, author of the book “Burning Issues About Islam.” Information: 746-0101.

Orthodox icon: The original icon of the Mother of God, Kurskaya Korennaya, is set to visit St. Mark Orthodox Christian Church, 1517 Morgan Johnson Road, Bradenton, on Feb. 2. The public is invited. The concert is a fundraiser for the Anchor House Mission, which is a nonprofit evangelical outreach to the international seafarers who dock at Port Manatee.
