Concert: The Perrys will perform in concert 6 p.m. Jan. 3 at Happy Gospel Church, 1915 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton. An offering will be received. Information: 756-6942.

Epiphany Eve service: The Christmas season will be brought to a close at 7 p.m. Jan. 5 with the Ecumenical Epiphany Eve Service at Gloria Dei Church, 6608 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach. The service, sponsored by Inquiring Minds, inspired by All Island Denominations, will include the traditional “Blessing of Chalk” to mark door posts for the new year. Inquiring Minds, the cross- denominational Bible study, will resume at 4 p.m. Jan. 12 with a study of St. John’s Gospel. Information: 778-4579.

Lunch and conversation: “Lunch with the Rabbi,” a monthly program featuring Rabbi Brenner J. Glickman, continues at Temple Emanu-El, 151 S. McIntosh Road, Sarasota, at noon Jan. 6. Community members are invited to bring a brown-bag lunch. Information: 371-2788.

Shabbat: Family Shabbat services at Temple Emanu-El, 151 S. McIntosh Road, Sarasota, continue at 7 p.m. Jan. 8. Conducted by Rabbi Brenner J. Glickman and the Family Shabbat Band, family Shabbat services feature participatory singing; prayers and a skit led by religious school students and families. Information: 371-2788.

Concert: The Marlin Brothers will perform a variety of music from Big Band tunes to classical melodies, rock to Ragtime, Bluegrass to smooth pop tunes at 4 p.m. Jan. 10 at First United Methodist Church, 603 11th St. W., Bradenton. The four brothers play more than 20 instruments with harmony and humor. The free performance is part of the Bradenton Community Fine Arts Concert Series. Information: Jim Johnston, 747-4406.

Concerts: Jazz in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church, 104 S. Pineapple St., Sarasota, has new concert times of 4-5 p.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 10, featuring Jazz Trio drummer Johnny Moore, bassist Dominic Mancini, and pianist Charlie Prawdzik. Guest Jack Brokensha will sit in on vibraphone. An offering will be taken.

Gospel music: The southern gospel singing ministry Gulf Ridge Quartet will perform for the 10:45 a.m. service Jan. 10 at Oneco First Baptist Church, 1700 51st. Ave. E., Bradenton. Information: 755-1690.

Bowden to speak: Bobby Bowden, legendary head football coach for Florida State University, will be the keynote speaker at the third annual Leadership Prayer Breakfast to benefit Take Stock in Children of Manatee County at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 4 at the Bradenton Municipal Auditorium, 1005 Barcarrota Blvd., Bradenton.
