UPCOMING EVENTS

Concert: As part of the worship service at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 13, First United Methodist Church, 603 11th St. W., Bradenton, plans “A Christmas Carol Gallery” with seasonal favorites performed with orchestral accompaniment. The public is invited. Information: 747-4406.

Concert: An evening of choral music featuring the St. Joseph Music Makers and members of the Sarasota Orchestra performing Felix Mendelssohn’s Oratorio “Elijah” is set for 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at St. Joseph Church, 3100 26th St. W., Bradenton. Cantata: Faith United Methodist Church’s Christmas Cantata is set for 10:15 a.m. Dec. 13. Faith is at 7215 1st Ave. W., Bradenton.

Friends Day: Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3131 61st St., Sarasota, has designated Dec 13 as Friends Day. Bring a friend and attend the ice cream social that follows the 11 a.m. service. All attending will receive a free gift. Information: 355-4729.

Christmas party: All Northminster Presbyterian Church members, friends and guests are invited to being a salad to share at the Christmas party at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 14. An offering will be received to help women and children at specific missions, here at home and in other countries. Information: 355-4729.

Flu vaccines: Temple Emanu-El, 151 S. McIntosh Road, Sarasota, will host vaccination clinics for H1N1 flu 4-6 p.m. Dec. 15 and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 16. Vaccine will be available to everyone ages 6 months and older. Injectable vaccine, preservative-free injectable vaccine, and nasal spray vaccine will be available. Vaccinations will be administered by professional health care workers. The cost is $20 per vaccination.

SHARE pick-up: will be 8:30-9:30 a.m. Dec. 19 in the Fellowship Hall at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 5115 Cortez Road. Information: 792-3497.

Transitions Support Group: meets 5-6:30 p.m. every Sunday at Congregational United Church of Christ, 3700 26th St. W., Bradenton, to help those who have suffered the loss of a loved one, job, health or struggled with addictions or depression. Transitions Support Group: meets 5- 6 p.m. every Wednesday through Dec. 2, and resumes weekly Jan. 13, in Room 242B at University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, 8350 N.
