Salvation Army hosts annual Bible conference

The Salvation Army Center for Worship and Service, 5328 24th St. E., Bradenton, on Feb. 20-22 is hosting the annual Corps Bible Conference on the book of Joshua “Receiving God’s Gift of the Land” with John Oswalt as guest Bible speaker.

Since 1999, Oswalt, a native of Mansfield, Ohio, has served as research professor of Old Testament at Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, Miss.

From 1989-99, he was professor of Old Testament and Semitic Languages at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky.

From 1983-86, he was president of Asbury College, and from 1986 -89, he was a member of the faculty of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

He is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church. Oswalt and his wife, the former Karen Kennedy, are parents of three children.
