Make a private appointment with the King

Most of my articles have been geared to those who are Christians, but today’s letter is to those who are not. I am confident that I am delivering this epistle on behalf of the King of Glory who wants to invite you to a private appointment with Him.

I have been a Christian for nearly 25 years and am still amazed that no matter the season in my life, I always have 24/7 access to the Creator of the universe, a private appointment with the King of Kings. Have you ever tried to schedule a meeting with someone of importance or with influence, perhaps for the purpose of helping you or listening to your ideas only to be denied or delayed?

If you did receive an audience, was there a time limit that caused you to rush and feel frustrated? I have experienced this. The Good News of the Kingdom is that the King is more excited about meeting with you than you are about meeting with Him. He has more time to give than you would ever need, more answers, more comfort, more direction, compassion, joy and love than you can contain.

He has wanted to have a private appointment with you for a long time, not to scold you, but rather to simply love you. That my fellow beloved is some of the Good News of the Gospel!

We are living in an hour with great need and need for great answers. Jesus not only provides solutions for both, He supplies more than we can ask or think.

The purpose of this article is not to invite you to a church, even though that is important for growth, or to invite you to join a religious organization or denomination, but rather to beckon you to the call of the King, a King who personally and with much gladness welcomes you into His chamber for a personal encounter.

There are terms you may have heard and maybe never understood, one of which may be “born again.” Most of us that attend church have been taught that being born again gets you into heaven when you die. While that is true and very important, I have learned that Jesus not only wants to get you into heaven when you die, He also wants to get heaven into you while you live. Jesus said in Luke 17:21 that the Kingdom of God is within you. This is why He taught us to pray “Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven.”

Regardless of who you are, or what you’ve done, God really does love you. He sent His Son who paid the ultimate price for you.

He died for your sins, but death could not hold Him. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ you can have a new and eternal life. Don’t delay; ask Him into your heart and ask Him to heal you.

Welcome to the Kingdom!

Don Sturiano, a pastor at Kingdom Life Christian Church which meets 10:30 a.m. at The Renaissance on 9th / Senior Enrichment Center 1816 9th Street West Bradenton.
