Davis Bynum Wine Dinner: Fleming's Sarasota, 2001 Siesta Drive, will hold a special wine dinner featuring four hand-selected wines from Davis Bynum Vineyards at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 15. Super Bowl party: Chef Paul Mattison is hosting a Super Football Sunday Party on Feb. 1 at Mattison's City Grille restaurant in Sarasota offering a large-screen TV, prizes and Game Day specials including Mattison's signature chicken wings, crispy calamari, pizzas, burgers, and more. Amore by Andrea adds lunch: Amore by Andrea, 555 Bay Isles Parkway, just off Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, is now open for lunch 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Lunch will be served in the new outdoor palm garden and in the elegant fireside lounge. The menu consists of an array of soups and salads for the season, five pasta dishes, (including Andrea's famous penne Bolognese) and four hearty sandwiches that are served with homemade steak fries. Beach Bistro casual menu: The Beach Bistro, 6600 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach, will be offering a new, more casual "Beach and Bar" menu and service featuring on-the-sand tables. The new Beach and Bar menu will feature shrimp po-boys, bourbon-grilled gulf jumbos, the real grouper sandwich, crab cakes, Bistro charcuterie and more. Jazz brunch: Through winter, the Sandbar Restaurant, 100 Spring Ave., Anna Maria, offers music from top local musicians during the restaurant's Sunday brunch, which begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. Information: 941-778-0444.

Sunday brunch: Polo Grill and Bar, 10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch, is offering Sunday Brunch, a brand new menu every Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. featuring a variety of hot and cold selections for breakfast and lunch that changes weekly with a mimosa, Bloody Mary and organic raw juice bar. Italian cooking: Giuliano Hazan, chef, teacher, cookbook author and son of Italian culinary legend Marcella Hazan, has launched a new series of intimate Italian cooking classes. Hazan and his wife, Lael Hazan, a food historian, will open their Sarasota riverside home to a maximum of nine participants per class. Guided by Hazan, attendees will prepare a four-course Italian meal, which will be enjoyed at the table and paired with select Italian wines. Classes are Jan. 16, 22, 27 and 30, Feb. 11, 19, 27.
