A 57-year-old woman was seriously injured Saturday when she was struck by a car in Bradenton, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said it appeared the woman was "dancing" in the street before she was hit.
The woman was hit about 7:05 p.m. while standing in a lane of traffic on 59th Street West just south of Manatee Avenue West, according to a news release.
"According to witnesses, the pedestrian was dancing in the roadway and inattentive," the report states.
A motorist tried to change lanes from the through lane to the left turn lane on 59th Street West, when the woman jumped in front of the vehicle and was hit, troopers said.
The woman was taken to Blake Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition.
