MANATEE -- An anonymous donor’s generosity will make a better Christmas for 40 families in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Manatee Program.
Thanks to the person’s $10,000 donation, the families will each receive $250 gift cards to enjoy a shopping spree 4-7 p.m. Monday at Walmart, 6225 SR 64 E., Bradenton.
According to officials, the donor lives in Manatee and wanted to make an impact with families who are struggling.
“Without the kindness of the donor, the families would otherwise not have been able to afford the gifts and food during this holiday season,” said Gina Taylor, the program’s marketing director in Venice.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast provides one-to-one mentoring relationships to children ages 6-18 in Sarasota, Manatee and eight other Southwest Florida counties.
