BRADENTON -- A 24-year-old Bradenton man was found dead early Friday morning after his motorcycle collided with a palm tree.
The Bradenton Police Department is investigating the crash that occurred sometime between 12:30 and 12:50 a.m. on 19th Avenue West, just east of 18th Street.
Eric P. Cooper was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound in the 1700 block of 19th Avenue West when he left the roadway and collided with the tree, according to authorities.

It was the third reported major motorcycle crash in Manatee in an eight-day span and the second fatality.
A 34-year-old Bradenton man died Oct. 28 at Bayfront Medical Center after his 1993 Harley Davidson was involved in a collision at U.S. 41 approaching the Bayshore Gardens Shopping Center driveway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Donald Wemple did not have his lights on when he was struck by a Ford Explorer at 12:20 a.m., a witness told the FHP.
The driver of the Ford Explorer made a left turn and did not see the motorcycle, the FHP reported.
At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a motorcycle rider was seriously injured in a crash near the intersection of U.S. 41 and Pearl Avenue.
The 36-year-old Harley Davidson rider from Bradenton was northbound on U.S. 41 in the left lane approaching Pearl Avenue, according to a sheriff’s office report.
A 1995 Dodge van driven by a 44-year-old Bradenton man turned left from southbound U.S. 41 onto Pearl Avenue and into the path of the motorcycle, the report states.
The driver of the motorcycle, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected to the north side of the intersection, the report states.
Charges are pending in the crash. An update on the motorcyclist’s condition was not available Friday night.
