MANATEE - Heavy rains at lunchtime Friday will give way to another beautiful weekend in Bradenton and Manatee County, according to the National Weather Service.
The Weather Service earlier Friday recorded 1.67 inches of rain at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, a downpour that flooded streets and caused other disruptions throughout the area.
Not much more rain was expected the rest of the day. Forecasters said there was a 30 percent chance of rain this afternoon, with the possibility diminishing to 10 percent into the evening.
On Saturday, forecasters were calling for sunny skies and a high of 85, with north-northwesterly winds of 3 mph to 10 mph. More of the same was expected on Sunday, according to the Weather Service.
