Sen. Mike Bennett, R-Bradenton, on Thursday officially withdrew his name from a letter chastising Gov. Rick Scott for the manner in which he rejected the federal high-speed rail money. The missive originally had 26 senators’ signatures on it, a veto-proof majority. But that has dissolved.
“I am afraid that my signature on this letter has been misconstrued as support for a High Speed Rail project in Florida,” Bennett wrote Scott.
He also told the governor he does not support the lawsuit filed against him by two senators, calling it “misguided.”
