BRADENTON -- More jobs are in store for Manatee County.
Economic development officials today announced Oshkosh Corp. will be expanding its business operations at existing facilities in Bradenton and Clearwater; a move that could create up to 200 jobs this year.
Oshkosh Corp., a maker of emergency rescue vehicles and parent company of Bradenton-based Pierce Manufacturing, is relocating two of its businesses
to the area.
Medtech Ambulances will relocate its manufacturing operations in Goshen, Ind. and White Pigeon, Mich. to consolidate with Pierce Manufacturing in Bradenton.
About 100 to 150 manufacturing and office positions will be added to Pierce Manufacturing’s Bradenton facility as a result.
Oshkosh Specialty Vehicles will move its manufacturing operations in Harvey and Calumet City, Ill. to Frontline Communications in Clearwater. About 50 manufacturing and office jobs will be added to Pinellas County as a result.
“We plan to invest $5 million in capital improvements to expand our Florida facilities,” said Jim Johnson, Oshkosh Corp. executive vice president in a news release.
The company will qualify for up to $1.4 million in incentives.
