Power outage in Atlanta cancels 2 Delta flights at SRQ

SARASOTA -- A power outage in Atlanta has cancelled at least two Delta Airlines flights and delayed a third at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport today.

The canceled flights at SRQ were a scheduled 8:15 a.m. departure to Atlanta and a 12:44 p.m. arrival from Atlanta, according to the local airport’s flight information tracker. A third flight, originally scheduled to land at SRQ at 6:29 p.m., now is expected to arrive 35 minutes later.

They are among several dozen flights that have been affected by a power outage in Delta’s concourse at Hartsfield International Airport, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Other flights also were being delayed, with some being held on the ground in other cities and others arriving on a delayed basis, an airline spokesman told the newspaper. The delays ranged from a few minutes to an hour.

The power to the Atlanta airport’s Concourse B went out shortly after 5 a.m. and was being restored as of 11:45 a.m., the newspaper reported. The cause had not been determined.
