Flying and sailing share some of the same dynamics. Like the wings of an airplane, the interaction of the wind and the sails powers a sailboat through the water. But sailors don’t have wings and for young sailor Harrison Fuller, 10, flying only lasted a few seconds as he flew through the air and hit the surface of Terra Ceia Bay with a perfect belly-flop landing. Harrison is famous among his fellow sailors at the Manatee River Pram Fleet for his belly-smacking abilities, and he received cheers as boys and girls in the Summer Sailing Camp looked on. With Harrison back at the helm of his Optimist pram, he caught the wind in his sails and sailed the rest of the afternoon.
