Shouts and laughter rolled along a quiet street in Bradenton on Sunday afternoon as a group celebrated Desiree Garcia’s 6th birthday. “Hit it! Up!” they shouted to a swinging, blindfolded Evelyn Ruiz as Roman Garcia lifted the piñata just out of reach with every swing from the family’s roof. Eventually, some candy spilled to the ground and the children leaped to grab it up. But the piñata wasn’t completely destroyed yet, so another child stepped up, had the blindfold tied snugly, and was turned around and around and around for a turn.
