Army veteran Michael Morine walks slowly through Manasota Memorial Park early Saturday morning while placing flags on the graves of U.S. armed forces veterans. An annual Memorial Day weekend tradition for members and guests of American Legion Christopher R. Cobb Memorial Post 312, it’s just one way they show their deep and unwavering respect toward those who have given their lives to the service. Post 312 is named after Marine Pfc. Christopher Cobb, Manatee County’s first young man to die in Iraq. Located at 1610 67th Ave. E., Oneco, the post will be holding an open house this Memorial Day from 1 to 9 p.m.
