Authorities searching for missing Bradenton woman

MANATEE — Authorities were searching for a known prostitute who is wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court and who has been reported missing by her friends and family, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

Deputies are searching for Laura Rudnik, 41, after an investigation revealed she has not been seen in months by those that know her.

The sheriff’s office had sought to find Rudnik on an outstanding warrant on a charge of failure to appear in court, and during that search acquaintances said they had not seen her since January or early February. Deputies went to the home of Rudnik’s parents, and they said they had not seen her since December 2009.

Rudnik is known to engage in prostitution, frequenting areas along 14th Street West in Bradenton, according to the sheriff’s office. Detectives believe her lifestyle may have something to do with her disappearance, but it is unknown if foul play was involved.

Anyone with information on Rudnik’s whereabouts can call the sheriff’s office at 747-3011, ext. 2552.
