Just more than a month after a judge sentenced former Lakewood Ranch High quarterback Tim Brooks to life in prison for killing a man during a robbery, a second man in the case was found guilty of attempted robbery, but not guilty of first-degree murder.
The jury deliberated the case of Cody Rogers for nearly nine hours Friday. He was accused of aiding Brooks in a robbery during which Brooks shot and killed 19-year-old William White Jr. on July 13, 2008.
Rogers' sentencing is scheduled for April 26. He had faced life in prison, if convicted of the murder charge.
