Though it was too early for the fireworks and celebrations of the New Year, the final hours of 2009 brought a spectacle all its own.
As a cold front approached from the west, high clouds moved across a brightly lighted sky, lit by a rare blue moon. The awe-inspiring panorama unfolding over me was my final glimpse of 2010, the passing of another decade, and one the camera failed to really capture. But it caused me to stop my busy activities for a second and take a moment to think, be thankful and be ready, for the challenges and blessings of another year.
