BRADENTON — Bradenton police have a second bank robber in custody after a heist this morning.
Police question Katherine L. Handy, 38, long into Wednesday night after she was found near the Oakmeade Apartments in the 1800 block of 13th Avenue East in the evening.
Handy and another suspect, Charlie Hampton, 67, of Bradenton allegedly entered the bank at 10 a.m.
Handy gave a teller at Gateway Bank, 2100 Manatee Avenue West, a note stating she was armed with a gun and demanded large bills. Tellers never saw a weapon, according to police.
Hampton stayed at the scene and told bank employees he was not going with Handy, according to the arrest report. Police arrested him on robbery charges.
Handy, 38, allegedly drove away with cash and fled in a black Nissan Altima in an unknown direction, according to police.
