SARASOTA - Authorities have obtained arrest warrants charging two brothers from Arkansas with the slaying of Roy Barnes Jr., whose dismembered and burned remains were found last week near Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, according to a Sarasota Police Department news release.
Sarasota Police have been working with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office to investigate Barnes' death July 22. His dismembered and burned remains were found off U.S. 41 in Manatee County.
Police today said detectives believe Barnes was shot to death in the 1600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Sarasota.
Investigators have obtained arrest warrants charging Corderia Davis, 19, and Jemar Davis, 17, with murder. They should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Police believe the pair may have fled the area, and are working with the U.S. Marshal's Service to locate them.
