SARASOTA — Rectrix Aviation Inc. today announced that it has finalized the purchase of New World Jet Corp., an FAA-approved air carrier operator based in Long Island, NY.
The acquisition has already added four key jobs to the Rectrix operation and has the potential to add dozens more, company officials said.
“In an era when millions of jobs are being eliminated, we’re hopeful we will be able to create new opportunities at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport,” said Richard Cawley, president and chief executive officer of Rectrix Aviation Inc., in a statement. “But new jobs require new space.” Rectrix officials said the bulk of New World Jet’s operations will remain in New York until expansion at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport becomes feasible.
The acquisition will expand Rectrix’s domestic and international flight offerings, company officials said.
