MANATEE — A 25-year-old Iraqi War veteran posted a $2,000 bond Thursday after he was arrested on charges of child abuse and domestic battery.
Aaron M. Duncan, of Palmetto, who was accused of slamming his wife and infant daughter against a wall during a heated argument, denied he touched them, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
Duncan recently returned home after he was injured while serving in the Army, according to the report.
The couple is going through a divorce and the fight started when Duncan’s wife allegedly put $7,100 in her personal account.

The money was from Duncan’s check from the Army, according to the report.
Duncan denied the abuse allegations.
According to the report, Duncan threw a toy at his wife of two years striking her in the mouth.
When his wife threatened to call the cops, he allegedly grabbed her and threw her on the floor and took her phone, according to the report.
She told him she was leaving and he took the keys.
When she went to pick up their daughter, he slammed them against the wall.
He then pushed his wife and daughter on the bed “hurting them both,” according to the report.
No marks were seen on either the wife or the infant, according to the deputy’s report. The woman complained of her wrist hurting.
The wife has since taken out a restraining order against Duncan, according to court records.
