Bradenton man charged in infant’s death

BRADENTON — A Bradenton man is under arrest on a felony murder charge following the death of his girlfriend’s baby.

Alfredo Raul Hudson, 21, was arrested on Thursday in connection to the killing after he allegedly told Manatee County Sheriff’s Office detectives he shook the 8-month-old baby girl because it would not stop crying.

The baby, Naiomi Petit-Homme, died last night at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Detectives were notified Tuesday of a child in critical condition at Manatee Memorial Hospital. Manatee Emergency Medical Services transported Naiomi to that hospital after she stopped breathing at her home in the 1600 block of 55th Avenue Circle East in Bradenton.

The child was later transported to All Children’s Hospital and listed in critical condition. The child died Thursday.

Detectives began investigating the incident as a possible child abuse case and learned that the baby suffered injuries consistent with being violently shaken.

Hudson was arrested Thursday evening in connection with the death.
