Surveillance photos of Palmetto bank robbery released

PALMETTO — Authorities are hoping surveillance photos of a bank robbery in Palmetto on Wednesday will lead to an arrest.

Palmetto police say just before noon, a man entered a First Bank branch at 995 Haben Blvd., and presented a note demanding money to a teller.

The man received cash and walked out the bank. He was last seen walking west on U.S. 301. He is described as 6 feet tall and thin, wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt. He had on sunglasses possibly with brown rims and wearing a black baseball cap that may have had a Tampa Bay Rays logo.
