BRADENTON — Manatee County’s unemployment rate showed minor relief by decreasing a tenth of a point in March from the month before. March’s rate of 11 percent is a slight drop from February’s 11,1 percent.
The county’s rate, however, is still at the highest since 1983 when it was 10.4 percent. It remains well above Florida’s 9.7 unemployment rate, which increased from 9.6 percent in February.
Sarasota County’s unemployment rate also dropped slightly to 10.7 percent from 10.8 in February.
The nation has an 8.5 percent unemployment rate through March.
