Detectives have arrested Michael Derek Johns in connection with two bank robberies last week, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office
At about 2:30 p.m. today, Johns, 44, was located and arrested without incident at a motel in the 3500 block of First Street West, Bradenton, the sheriff's office said in a news release.
Lori D. Davis, 34, was also arrested on an unrelated charge and will be questioned in connection with the bank robberies.
In the robbery of a SunTrust Bank branch in the 5700 block of 14th Street West, detectives say Johns presented a teller a note demanding money and he fled with cash. In a hold-up of the First Bank branch in the 400 block of 53rd Avenue West, Johns ordered a teller to fill a bag he had with money, according to sheriff’s reports.
