MANATEE — Authorities have located a baby born in Manatee reported missing by Osceola County officials, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
Detectives were able to locate the baby’s mother south of Fort Myers and found the child safe and he is no longer considered missing. Sheriff’s officials here say Osceola deputies were looking for Judd Hoppe Jr., born Dec. 22, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.
The Florida Department of Children and Families Services was to be notified of the birth because of a history of domestic violence and drug abuse by the parents, Judd and Leslie Hoppe, but the agency did not receive notification, the sheriff’s report said.
Osceola investigators notified Manatee authorities of the missing child report after finding out Judd Jr. was born in Manatee.
