Three teens charged with beating Southeast High teen

MANATEE — Authorities have arrested three teens in a beating reported by a Southeast High School student who said his friends attacked him with broom sticks, a metal pipe and a door.

Manatee County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dave Bristow said Zachary Rorie, 15, Tyler Marshall, 17, and Delianna Nieves, 14, have been arrested on charges of kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and burglary.

The 17-year-old victim said when he got to school Tuesday, Rorie, Marshall and Nieves forced him off campus and into a vacant house in the 3100 block of 11th Street Court East.

Inside the house, the victim told deputies the three beat him with broom sticks, a metal pipe and a door that was off its hinges. They also forced him to strip naked and stand in a shower while they beat him, the boy told deputies.

At about 10:50 a.m., the boy said he escaped the house through a window and knocked on a nearby door. The homeowner that answered the door called authorities at the boy’s request. Deputies found the boy with a bloody lip and swelling on his eyes and face, the sheriff’s report said.

The boy told deputies Rorie, Marshall and Nieves were his “friends,” but they had gotten upset with him. All three were arrested late Tuesday and taken to a juvenile detention center, Bristow said.
