BOTB: Rules and Regulations

Eligibility

The competition is open to the public. All participants must sign/submit a Liability and Publicity Waiver before setting up and performing. Those under the age of 18 must have the Waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian to participate. A copy of the waiver can be found on the second page of this package. Please make copies as necessary for all band members.

 

Rules and Regulations

The use of alcohol, drugs and/or tobacco is prohibited at Manatee Civic Center. Any competitor under the influence of the aforementioned substances will be disqualified.

Fighting or other aggressive or disruptive behavior will result in disqualification and ejection from the event.

Profanity or abusive language in the lyrics of a song or at the Civic Center in general will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification and ejection from the event.

Anyone involved with the graffiti, tagging, placement of stickers and/or littering of Civic Center property will be disqualified and asked to leave the event.

The Bradenton Herald and the Manatee Civic Center are not responsible for any injuries or accidents that may occur at the Event.

The Bradenton Herald and the Manatee Civic Center are not responsible for any lost/stolen items and will not have any storage available at Civic Center.

Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times while in the Civic Center.

This code applies to all contestants, coaches, managers, sponsor representatives, media, parents and friends.


LIABILITY AND PUBLICITY RELEASE

I understand and agree that by submitting this entry is subject to review and screening by Battle of the Bands Advisory Committee and does not guarantee participation in the Battle of the Bands Event.

The submitting applicant, and/or the undersigned parent/guardian, hereby waive, release and discharge any and all claims or rights to claims for damages for death, personal injury or property damage which I may have, or which may hereafter accrue to me, as a result of participation in said activity. This Release is intended to discharge in advance the Bradenton Herald and the Manatee Civic Center, and its officials, officers, agents, volunteers and employees, from and against any and all liability rising out of or connected in any way with my participation in said activity. I further understand that accidents may occur during said activity, and that participants in such activity may sustain personal injuries, and/or property damage, as a consequence thereof. Knowing the risks of said activity, nevertheless, I hereby agree to assume those risks and to release and hold harmless all of the persons and entities mentioned above. It is further understood and agreed that this waiver, release and assumption of risk is to be binding on my heirs and assigns. If the participant is

a minor, I also give permission for his/her participation in the above activities, and for any necessary emergency medical treatment. I understand that the Bradenton Herald has no obligation to supervise my children at the close of the above activities and I release the Bradenton Herald, its officials, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any liability resulting from the lack of supervision of my children at the close of the above activities. I understand and agree that participants involved in recreation programs are subject to being photographed and such photographs may be used by the Bradenton Herald in print and online.
