LAKEWOOD RANCH -- The Esplanade Golf and Country Club in Lakewood Ranch is adding a wellness center facility to accompany the community's large main clubhouse, pool, walking trails and an 18-hole golf course.
Plans submitted to Manatee County by developer Taylor Morrison call for an 8,000-square-foot wellness center with a state-of-the-art fitness center, locker rooms, a movement studio, performance training, fitness program options, and a full-service salon where members can get everything from a massage to a manicure.
Exterior construction is also underway on a new Tiki Bar with outdoor dining, and another resort-style pool surrounding the Wellness Center. The new facility is adjacent to the 600-acre, community's existing Amenity Center, which offers a full range of activities to residents, who have a lifestyle director onsite, planning year-round social engagements and parties.
A third phase of construction, which Taylor Morrison says is dependent on
the sale of homes in the gated, maintenance-free community, will replace a temporary golf pro shop with a permanent shop and an adjoining clubhouse.
When complete, the community, located in Lakewood Centre, north of State Road 70 on Malachite Drive, will include about 1,250 single-family and coach homes with two and three bedrooms and open floor plans.
The national home builder owns several single family home communities in Sarasota, Bradenton, Siesta Key and Palmetto, featuring one- and two-story homes up to 5,000 square feet, with prices starting from the low- to mid-$200,000s to more than $400,000.
