BRADENTON -- Two mobile home parks almost side by side on U.S. 41 have been sold to a prolific investor in such properties.
On Feb. 25, the Sunny Acres Mobile Home Park and the Capital Mobile Home Park sold to a company managed by Michael Hickman, a Wisconsin investor who owns and manages a number of Manatee County mobile home parks. According to county property records, the two properties sold for $4.35 million.
For the price, Hickman's companies acquire 160 total units.
The seller in the transaction was Parker Bradenton LLC, a Stuart company that bought the parks in 2000 for $1.93 million.
The parks at 5110 and 5210 14th St. W. , respectively, are near U.S. 41 and State Road 70. Between the two parks is another mobile home development, Wayside Glen. That property is owned by a company related to Parker Bradenton, according to state corporate records.
Late last year, Hickman's company purchased Mermaid Manor in Bradenton, a 79-unit park for $2.1 million.
Another property controlled by Hickman in the Bradenton and Sarasota areas is Fisherman's Cove Resort in Palmetto.
