Bill 'The Sauce Boss' Wharton at Aces Live in Bradenton

Touring in support of his new concert album, "Live at the Green Parrot," recorded at the popular Key West club, singer/guitarist/cook Bill "Sauce Boss" Wharton returns to Aces Live in Bradenton for another evening of power blues and gumbo.

Since 1990, the Orlando native estimates he has cooked for more than 180,000 people while simultaneously playing slide guitar-peppered swamp rock.

Wharton's unique meal and music (and storytelling) act enjoyed a nice popularity boost back in 1999 when Jimmy Buffett wrote the song "I Will Play for Gumbo" and included it on his Top 10 album "Beach House on the Moon."

"The Sauce Boss does his cookin' on the stage," Buffett sings. "Stirrin' and a singing for his nightly wage."

Details: 9 p.m. Aug. 31, Aces Live, 4343 Palma Sola Blvd., Bradenton. Tickets: $8 (advance), $12 (door). Information: 941-795-3886.
