Lemurs named

Sarasota Jungle Gardens’ newest family members — a pair of young lemurs — received their winning Beatles-inspired names after a six-week-long contest: Yoko and Ono. The parents of the two lemurs are Paula and Ringo, who have another young lemur named Jude. The “couple” have been at the Jungle Gardens for 10 years. Visit the lemur family at 3701 Bay Shore Rd,, Sarasota. Admission is $14 adults, $13 seniors, $10 children ages 3-12 and free for children age 2-under.

World Ocean Day

Mote Marine Laboratory will host an annual World Ocean Day Family Festival 11 a.m.-2 p.m. June 7 in the courtyard. Guests can enjoy making crafts, collages, face painting and games. Environmental and conservation groups will have booths. Admission is free with an aquarium ticket: $17 adults, $16 seniors, $12 youth and free for children younger than 4.
