BRADENTON -- Volunteers from Rotary Clubs throughout Manatee County joined together to paint the interior of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County's Bradenton Club on May 12.
Taking part were the Bradenton Rotary Club, the Manatee Riverside Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of East Manatee, the Rotary Club of Anna Maria Island and the Lakewood Ranch Rotary Club.
"Nearly 30 people got together to paint and we are pleased to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Manatee County who have graciously allowed us to use their facility for food packaging projects to feed the hungry within our community over the past two years," said Dan Chappie, service project coordinator for the Bradenton Rotary Club.
Materials were funded by a donation from the Bradenton Rotary Club Foundation with contributions from The Home Depot and Sherwin Williams.
"We had an amazing group of dedicated volunteers and it was exciting to see members of the Rotary organization from throughout Manatee County and local businesses get together for a day of work and fellowship to benefit the kids served by the Boys & Girls Clubs," Chappie said.
The Bradenton Rotary Club was established in 1926, making it the oldest in the county.
The club is dedicated to providing service to others, promoting high ethical standards, and to advancing world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional and community leaders. Bradenton Rotary purchases and distributes meals to the disadvantaged, provides college scholarships, supports Manasota Arc, The Salvation Army, supplies emergency shelter through ShelterBox, sponsors Gift of Life heart surgery recipients, and many more local and international projects.
