Take a journey through the mysterious recesses of the ocean as artist Alexandra Lillis introduces the mermaids she created spanning the globe and animal kingdom. "My mermaids are an exploration between human and animal, between us and our imaginations," says Lillis, an artist living and working on Anna Maria Island. She has been featured in solo and group exhibits as well as being in private collections. Lillis received her BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design. The exhibit "Alexandra Lillis: Waves of Creation" opens at the Anna Maria Island Art League located at 5312 Holmes Blvd, Holmes Beach. The opening reception is Friday February 11, 2011 from 5:30-7:30pm. The exhibit will be on view through February 27, 2011 from 9:30-3:30 Tuesday through Friday. Exhibits and opening receptions at Anna Maria Island Art League are always free and open to the public. Art League hours are 9:30 am – 3:30 pm, Tuesday - Friday. The Art League is located at 5312 Holmes Blvd, Holmes Beach.
