ArtCenter Manatee is proud to be one of five venues nationwide to host the National Watercolor Society’s 90th Annual Exhibition’s Traveling Show in Bradenton, Florida February 1 through March 18, 2011. The National Watercolor Society (NWS) brings the public the best of water media painting, representing a wide range of directions and technique, from experimental to traditional. Each year the Society holds a juried exhibition of water media paintings from artists from throughout the world. The NWS Traveling Exhibition brings some of the biggest and most talented artists in water soluble media together into one show. The original juried exhibition, hung in the fall of 2010 at the NWS Gallery in San Pedro, CA contained 100 entries, 30 of which were chosen for the traveling show and many are award winners. In conjunction with the NWS Show, the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society will present works by their members. FSWS is comprised of artists from 7 gulf coast counties representing some of the best watercolor talent in the south. Watercolor workshops being held at ArtCenter Manatee during the exhibit feature nationally known artists: Anne Abgott, Margaret Hall Hoybach, Nicholas Simmons and Jackie Woolf. The suggested donation for admission to the Exhibition is $10. Docent led tours are available.
