In order to better serve our community, Manatee County Habitat for Humanity has created a partnership opportunity for low-income homeowners who need assistance maintaining the exterior of their homes. With the help of volunteers, the new Manatee Habitat program, called A Brush with Kindness, assists low-income homeowners to restore and maintain their homes so they can continue to live in a safe, decent and affordable home. This program not only helps families and communities in need, but it helps create neighborhood stability and preserves the affordable housing stock in Manatee County. Manatee Habitat’s A Brush with Kindness program has a scope of work that includes exterior painting, landscaping, and minor home repairs. Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is a partnership that relies on the homeowner’s involvement and participation, as well as the help of volunteers. Home repairs are led by trained crew leaders and completed by Habitat volunteers.Executive Director Ron Turner, explains, “This new hope repair programs allows us to help homeowners struggling to maintain exterior of their homes. It’s just another way Manatee County Habitat for Humanity can lend a hand to local homeowners and families in need.”Manatee Habitat applications are now being accepted from low-income homeowners of Manatee County in need of home repairs.
