The SOURCE, an outreach education program of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, is a national touring theater program for teens and young adults. On Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 SOURCE will be performing "Freshman Year" at Renaissance on 9th.
"Freshman Year is a thought-provoking story about three ninth grade girls whose lives are forever altered by events that occur during their freshman year of high school. The play stresses the consequences of high-risk behavior, dealing with issues like teen pregnancy, peer pressure, date rape and sexually transmitted infections, encouraging young people to think about their behavior and to make healthy decisions. The SOURCE production of Freshman Year" has been evaluated and praised by educators and school administrators, and has been presented in Sarasota County high school for more than a decade.
The performance will begin at 1:30P.M. at Renaissance on 9th (1816 9th St. W., Bradenton) and light refreshments and discussion will follow the program. For more information about the performance contact Nan at 941-356-5433.
