Celebrate National Library Week at the Braden River Branch Library. On Thursday, April 15, 2010, the Friends of the Braden River Library are sponsoring a special program at the library featuring storyteller and performer Preston Boyd.
Starting at 6:30 p.m., the renowned local storyteller and performer will entertain the whole family in celebration of National Library Week.
The event is free and open to all, and advance registration is not required. Seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
Preston Boyd has appeared onstage at the Florida Studio Theatre, The Asolo, The State College of Florida, and numerous other venues around the country --as well as Off-Broadway in New York City. He also is a drama and music teacher at Saint Stephen’s School in Bradenton and is Vice-President of Theatre Odyssey, a semi-professional theatre production company.
Special programs such as this are made possible by funds generously provided by the Friends of the Library. The Friends are a support organization for Manatee County’s Braden River Branch Library. Monies raised by the Friends go toward programs and services that tax dollars alone cannot provide.
The Braden River Branch Library is located at 4915 53rd Avenue East in Bradenton, Florida. For more information, please call the library at 941-727-6079.
