The Friends of the Braden River Branch Library are pleased to welcome attorney Mary Anne Spencer, who will present a program on the problem of IDENTITY THEFT on Saturday, February 20th at 10:30 a.m. The presentation is one of many offered by the distinguished attorneys who volunteer their time as part of the Florida Bar Speakers Bureau.
Identity Theft is a growing problem. According to one report by the Federal Trade Commission, the number of Identity Theft complaints nationwide rose ten-fold, from 31 thousand in the year 2000 to over 313 thousand in 2008. Furthermore, Florida has one of the highest ID Theft rates in the country.
A fourth-generation native of Manatee County, Spencer is a board certified attorney whose practice specializes in the many facets of estate planning. She is a co-shareholder in the law firm of Schofield & Spencer, P.A.
Seating for this free program will be available on a first come, first serve basis. No registration is necessary. Light refreshments will be served starting at 10:00 a.m.
