The Friends of the Rocky Bluff Branch Library will hold their fourth annual AUTHOR LUNCHEON on Friday, January 22nd at the River Wilderness Golf and Country Club. Special guest speaker at this year’s event will be best-selling author David Hagberg. Hagberg has published more than SEVENTY suspense novels since his first, “Twister” in 1975. A former Air Force cryptographer, he has a knack for creating fiction that becomes fact. In THE WHITE HOUSE he predicted North Korea’s development of nuclear weapons. In JOSHUA’S HAMMER he foresaw the 9/11 attack on the United States by bin Laden and his al-Qaeda, and in DESERT FIRE he wrote of Saddam Hussein’s nuclear ambitions. His latest book, “The Expediter” deals with a Chinese intelligence officer who is assassinated while in North Korea attempting to convince Kim Jong-Il to give up his nuclear weapons. The luncheon will start at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 22nd, and will be held at the River Wilderness Country Club, 2250 Wilderness Boulevard West (in Parrish). Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., at which time Mr. Hagberg will be available to sign copies of his books. Tickets for the luncheon are $35.00 and should be purchased in advance. (Each ticket purchased includes a raffle ticket for a basket of books and other items.)
